James Terry Thomas

James Terry Thomas, age 65, of Baxley passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024 in Memorial Health University Medical Center.

Terry was born September 13, 1958 in Appling County and was employed by J M Miles Construction and was a member of Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church. Terry was always full of life and laughter and enjoyed working on cars and drag racing. He was preceded in death by his father, James Clinton Thomas and a special aunt, Gladys Carter.

Survivors include his daughter, Tara (Ben) Campbell of Baxley; son, Tyler Thomas of Baxley; stepdaughter, Rebecca Chancey of Savannah; mother, Shirley Chance of Baxley; sisters, Cathy (Eddie) Carter and Sherry (Kevin) Carter, both of Baxley; granddaughter, Janna Fayth Thomas of Baxley. His special friend, Cindy Curtis also survives.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 11, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Ferguson and Rev. Wanda Sue Tippins officiating. Interment will follow in Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Danny Johnson, Randy Crummey, Jerry Crapps, Darrell Taylor, Joey Hiers, and Darrell Summerall.

The visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
