Brother Bobby E. Brinkley, 81, died Sunday, July 24, 2016, at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Wayne County, he started preaching the Gospel around Southeast Georgia in 1964. He loved to visit people and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved God, his family, and those he served. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juil and Nevie Brinkley and a grandson, Cory Brinkley.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Terry Brinkley; children, Robin Brinkley, Chuck Brinkley, Casey Adams, Tammy Edwards, and Chip Brinkley; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Larry Brinkley, Zee Mullis, Jack Brinkley, Exie Chisholm, Denny Brinkley, Katryna Hayes, Jimmy Brinkley, and Jeff Brinkley; and several other family members.
Visitation will be 5-8 pm, Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Gum Branch Baptist Church.
Funeral services will begin at 10 am, Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Gum Branch Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chris Brinkley, Zachary Harris, Cory Breningstall, Ryan Ramos, Mickey Mullis, Teddy Brinkley, Jeff Mobley, Adam Webb, and Clay Brinkley.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons Brother Bobby served during his years of ministry.
