Charles William Mabey, Jr.

Mr. Charles William Mabey, Jr., age 77, of Hazlehurst, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Meadows Rehab in Vidalia under the care of Affinis Hospice.

Mr. Mabey was born on June 5, 1948, in Hawthorne, New Jersey. He had a career in law enforcement and retired from CCA Federal Prison. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Meyer Mabey.

Survivors include his daughters, Christine Mabey, Jessica Mabey, Danielle Mabey, and Stephanie Mabey; sons, Charles W. (Susan) Mabey, Marty (Chelsea) Mabey, Stephen Mabey, Anthony Mabey, and Gabe Smith; father, Charles William Mabey, Sr.; sisters, Joanne Ruske and Laura (Tony) Stamedis; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 6:00 pm in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home Hazlehurst with Rev. Glen Hancock officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home Hazlehurst.
