Mrs. Colleen Stone, age 80, of Baxley died Monday, August 14, 2017 in Tifton.
Mrs. Stone was born July 22, 1937 in Appling County. She was a loving wife, grandmother & a homemaker. Mrs. Stone was a faithful & devoted Pastor’s wife for 48 years. She was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church & thoroughly enjoyed working in her flower gardens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Burney & Ettie Whitten and Hovis & Ades Nail & her sisters, Willie Minor, Florine Lima, Eunice Whitten, Willadean Pearson, brothers, Terrell Whitten, Johnny Whitten, Jimmy Whitten & Verlin Whitten.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Rev. Bill Stone of Baxley; a daughter & son in law, Renee’ & Tim Daniel of Tifton; three grandsons, Jordan Daniel & wife, Kaycee, Aaron Daniel, Seth Daniel & wife, Halee, & six great grandchildren, Olivia Daniel, Crosby Daniel, Parker Daniel, Reed Daniel, Trace Daniel, Vaeda Rose Daniel & her beloved poodle, Dolly.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Brown, Rev. Robert Wigley & Rev. Charles Hutcheson officiating.
Interment will follow in the Baxley Graveyard.
Active pallbearers will be Kevin Waters, Glen Rentz, Richard Riddle, Greg Kicklighter, James Johnson & Roger Johnson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be all friends in attendance.
Visitation will be Thursday evening 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Swain Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
