David Rozal Powell

David Rozal Powell, age 68, of Denton passed away Monday, February 23, 2026 at his residence under the care of Regency Southern Care Hospice.

Mr. Powell was born November 4, 1957 in Jeff Davis County to the late Robert Rozal Powell and the late Othella Owens Powell. He was a member of Denton Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Mr. Powell was owner & operator of David’s Woodworking and found great joy in creating children’s furniture. He was always excited to see a child select the perfect rocking chair, tea set table, toy box or swing.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Powell; daughter, Jessica (Shawn) Folk; son, Delvin Powell; sister, Angela (Joey) Browning; grandchildren, Kadence Folk, Gabriel Folk, and Allie Powell; special daughter, Crystal Texeira; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Denton Baptist Church with Rev. Patrick Owens, Rev. Kenny Hutcheson and Rev. Randall Kersey officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rodney & April Miller, Wesley & Beth Willis, Buddy & Myra Rea, Wayne & Bobbie Davis, Hunter & Lindsey Miller and Colby & Drew Hughes.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Denton Baptist Church.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
