David Randall "Randy" Glisson, Sr.

David Randall “Randy” Glisson, Sr., age 76, of Baxley passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026 at Appling Healthcare.

Mr. Glisson was born on September 7, 1950 in Savannah to the late Theodore Frank Glisson and the late Homer Lee Collins Glisson.

A patriot at heart, Mr. Glisson honorably served his country as a veteran of the United States Army, carrying the discipline and pride of his military service with him long after his enlistment ended. Upon returning to civilian life, he dedicated many years to the Georgia Power Company, eventually retiring after a career as a Lineman. Beyond his corporate career, Mr. Glisson was passionate about working and farming his land.

Survivors include his wife, Senovia Garcia de Glisson; daughter, Devan Turley of Illinois; sons, Michael (Betsy) Glisson and David R. Glisson, Jr. both of Vidalia; sister, Carol Ann (Steven) Guittar of Cornelius, NC; brother, Ted (Melanie) Glisson of Brooklet; grandchildren, Matthew (Brooke) Glisson, Madison (Nathaniel) Glisson, and Deanna Glisson; and a great grandchild, Amelia Glisson.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 5, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. with funeral services starting at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Carlos Crosby officiating. Interment will follow in Glisson Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Dwain Spell, Cole Altman, Phil Tyre, Carlos Croaby, Donnie Baxley, and Jody “Joe” Elmore.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
