Elaine Johnson

Elaine Johnson, age 78, of Surrency passed away Friday, April 17, 2026 at her residence under the care of Coastal Hospice.

Mrs. Johnson was born on December 20, 1947 in Jesup, Georgia to the late Ernest Len O’Brien and the late Martha Letitia Tillman O’Brien. She was a member of Bethel Methodist Church, where she served as a devoted Sunday School teacher. She was a retired Paraprofessional at the Appling County School System. Mrs. Johnson was a devoted wife, mother and Nana, and was preceded in death by a brother, Michael O’Brien and a grandson, Brett Johnson.

Survivors include her husband, Wendell Johnson of Surrency; sons, Greg (Shawna) Johnson of Loganville and Chris (Betty) Johnson of Tallahassee, FL; sisters, Janice (Mike) Lamb and Beverly (David) Eason both of Surrency; and a sister-in-law, Linda O’Brien of Surrency. Six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, April 19, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Methodist Church with Greg Johnson and Chris Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Brandon Johnson, Michael Kiouglius, Caleb Johnson, Levi Johnson, Riley Ayers and Heath Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Bethel Methodist Church.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
