Grant Joshua (Josh) Brinkley, I

Grant Joshua “Josh” Brinkley, I, age 54, of Hazlehurst, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at his residence.

Josh was born on January 3, 1972, in Jesup. He was owner & operator of GJB Trucking and had a trade in carpentry. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Brinkley, uncle, Terry Brinkley, and niece, Hannah Brinkley.

Survivors include his daughter, Layla Brinkley (Nathan) Butler; son, Grant Brinkley; mother, Patsy Beasley; brothers, Jamar Brinkley and Jarone Brinkley; and seven grandchildren also survive.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 6:00 pm in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home Hazlehurst with Rev. Darrell Hand officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be Grant Brinkley, Carson Brinkley, Josh Cornett, Jordan Cornett, Dakota Darley, and Heath Bodenhamer.

“To know Josh was to love him. He loved to make people laugh and was quite the jokester. He did something that most of us forget to do – just simply laugh. He was a son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin that was loved beyond measure. His presence here will truly be missed. We will hold on to the memories of you forever more. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
