Howard Kimsey Hendrix

Howard Kimsey Hendrix, age 82, of Baxley passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025 at his residence under the care of Georgia Hospice Care.

Kimsey was born April 22, 1943 in College Park, Georgia. Early in his adulthood he was a barber but later became a building contractor and designer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Edward Hendrix, Sr. and Opaul Farmer Hendrix, and his brother, Dewey Edward Hendrix, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Mayers Cox Hendrix of Baxley; daughter, Christina Hendrix of Hampton; son, Daniel Kimsey (Kristi) Hendrix of Toccoa; grandchildren, Stephen Smith and Julia (Charlie) Watson both of Hampton, Josh (Amber) Hendrix of Louisville, KY, Samantha Hendrix and Kimberleigh Hendrix both of Toccoa, and Niki Cox of Baxley; nephews, Greg Hendrix and Tim Hendrix, and a special nephew Jeff (Melanie) Hendrix of Dallas, TX. Special friends, B. J. & Sheila Marcum and Bob & Brenda Nelson also survive.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Justin McLellan and Chaplain Ryan Watson officiating.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
