Jade Mackenzi Hachem

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jade Mackenzi Hachem, age 58, born in Atlanta, Georgia. 

Jade is survived by her devoted wife, Veronica Lynn Hachem; beloved children, Caroline Hachem, Garrett Hachem, and Spencer Hachem; father, Glenn Williams, and stepmother, Marilyn; brother, John Williams and his wife, Jama; sister, Kristi Hill and her husband, Ken; parents-in-law, Ritchie and Gwen Sharpe; brother-in-law, Tadd Sharpe and his wife, Kim; special uncle, Gerry Williams and his wife, Gail; a cousin who was like a brother, Jerry Lynn Johnson and his wife Jennifer; along with many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Linda Janet Davis. Jade proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1990 to 1999, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant with a primary specialty in Air Transportation. During her distinguished military career, she earned numerous honors and decorations, including the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Professional Military Education Ribbon, Air Force Training Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award, and both the Air Force Overseas Short Tour and Long Tour Ribbons, among other commendations. She served her country with pride, professionalism, and honor. 

Following her military service, Jade answered another calling by becoming a Registered Nurse. She built a career as a trauma and critical care travel nurse, caring for patients in hospitals across the nation. Nursing was never simply a profession to Jade—it was who she was. She believed her greatest responsibility was to be the strongest advocate possible for every patient. She considered it one of life’s greatest privileges to walk with patients through their most vulnerable moments, and nowhere was that more meaningful than when she lovingly cared for her own grandmother during the final chapter of her life. Jade’s compassion extended far beyond the walls of a hospital. Even after several serious health conditions forced her into an early retirement from the career she loved, Jade never stopped caring for those around her. Nursing was woven into the very fabric of her soul, and she continued to offer comfort, wisdom, and support to family, friends, and anyone in need. Outside of her work, Jade found joy in the simple things that made life beautiful. She loved the ocean, gardening, basketball, skateboarding—even occasionally through hospital hallways—and she adored her fur babies, who brought so much joy to her life.

Jade embodied those words every single day. Through countless acts of kindness—many unseen and unrecognized—she changed lives, comforted strangers, and reminded everyone around her what genuine compassion looks like. In keeping with Jade’s wishes, family and friends are invited to honor her memory by making a donation to their local humane society or animal shelter. Caring for animals brought Jade great happiness, and she hoped her love for them would continue through the generosity of others. Though her time with us feels far too short, and basketball courts and skateboard parks will be a little emptier- Jade leaves behind a legacy of courage, service, empathy, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and eternally cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home.

A Committal Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville with Military Honors.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.
