Larry Curtis Rentz

Larry Rentz, age 84, of Waverly, Georgia passed away Thursday, October 29, 2026, at UF Health of Jacksonville, Florida.

Larry was born on May 27, 1942, in Alexandria, Virginia to the late James Curtis Rentz and the late Nellie Marie Pitts Rentz. He owned and operated Rentz & Associates. A true adventurer at heart, Larry lived a life defined by a deep love for the outdoors, a passion for exploring the world, and an enduring commitment to his community. His love for nature led him to become a dedicated, long-time member of the Dover Bluff Club community, where he found great joy in the coastal landscape, camaraderie, and peaceful surroundings. An avid outdoorsman, Larry was rarely happier than when he was hunting in the woods or casting a line into the water. His respect for wildlife, firearms safety, and conservation was reflected in his proud long-time membership with the National Rifle Association (NRA). Beyond local shores and woods, Larry was also an avid international traveler. He possessed an insatiable desire to see the world, experiencing diverse cultures. He also possessed an abundance of charm and a heart big enough to appreciate and admire beauty in whoever and wherever he found it. Whether trekking through foreign landscapes or sharing stories of his latest expedition, Larry brought a sense of wonder and enthusiasm to every journey.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his stepmother, Lillian Beecher Rentz; and brothers, Ronnie Summerlin, James Ritchie and Jack Ritchie.
