Mary Deen Meadows Sellers, age 88, of Pembroke passed away Monday, February 12, 2024 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.
Mrs. Sellers was born November 22, 1935 in Appling County to the late E. L. & Erma Reeves Deen. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pembroke and was a former Vice President of Baxley Federal Savings & Loan. Mrs. Sellers continued using her banking skills well into her retirement years and was a devoted wife, mother, stepmother, and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Meadows, her sisters, Dorothy Courson and Vivian Collins; brother, Melvin Lee Deen; and a great grandson, Jacob Lamb.
Survivors include her husband, Sherrel Sellers of Pembroke; daughter, Susan (Dennis) Lamb of Surrency; Al (Missy) Meadows of Baxley; stepchildren, Danny (Theresa) Sellers of Tampa, FL, Kathy (Brian) Sanders of Kingsport, TN, Karen (Patrick) Wells of Savannah and Timothy (Laura) Sellers of Pembroke; sisters, Patsy Knight of West Point, VA and Beckie Stipe of Baxley; a special brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Ali Trosten & Pat Meadows; four grandchildren, Garrett (Jennifer) Lamb, Ryan (Jessica) Lamb, Kristin (Cory) Fenn, and Ali Marie (Dylan) Christopher, ten step-grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Brown and Rev. James Minick officiating and a eulogy by Janine Hunter. Interment will follow in Omega Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Brian Sanders, Danny Sellers, Tim Sellers, Kaleb Lamb, Jay Overstreet and Kelly Meadows.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Ogeechee Area Hospice, co-workers of Baxley Federal Bank, Mr. & Mrs. James Twiggs, Jean Lewis, Dorothy Harrell, Peggy Miles, Elaine Tuten, Merle Murray and Mr. & Mrs. Randall Sellers.
Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 until the funeral hour.
