Mickey Davis

Mickey Davis, age 79, of Baxley passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025 at The Pavillion under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.

Mr. Davis was born July 15, 1945 to the late Martin Davis and the late Myrtice Hall Davis in Baxley. He worked as a machinist for Bass Electric until his retirement and served in the Army National Guard. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting and a tractor enthusiast. He was a member of Dunn Memorial Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Herndon Davis; daughter Monica Davis; brothers, Maryland Davis and Marty Davis; sister, Mary Barfield; and sister-in-law, Jeanette Herndon.

Survivors include his daughter, Yvette (Jason) Shipwash of Baxley; son, Galen (Mary Heather) Davis of Loganville; sister, Melba Herrington of Baxley; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jean (Charles) Davis, Martha Lewis, Jay (Linda) Herndon, and Danny (Celes) Herndon. Two grandchildren, Harrison Davis and Clinton Davis both of Loganville also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 5, 2025 at 2:00 PM, at Dunn Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Weisel, Rev. Rick Brown and Rev. Ryan Clements officiating.

Interment will follow in Hopewell Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Dave Hunter, Dane Hunter, Keith Lewis, Ashley Wainwright, Jamie Davis, and Stacy Davis.

The visitation will be held Sunday, May 4, 2025 in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
