Shirley Ann Whitley

Shirley Ann Whitley, age 64, of Hazlehurst passed away Friday, May 30, 2025 at her residence under the care of Comfort Care Hospice.

Mrs. Whitley was born on February 26, 1961 to the late Albert Kersey and the late Agnes Wilcox Kersey. She was a native and lifelong resident of Jeff Davis County. She worked for many years at Hazlehurst Lingerie and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Ronnie Lee Whitley of Hazlehurst; daughter, Christina Carter of Hazlehurst; sons, Justin (Dakota) Bohannon of Hazlehurst and Matthew (Casey) Bohannon of Hazlehurst; sister, Regina Cleveland, and four brothers, John (Brenda) Patton, Jerry (Raylene) Patton, Jim (Karen) Purvis and Wesley (Sabrina) Cleveland; ten grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 2, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Oakland Baptist Church with Rev. Royce Hulett and Rev. Ashley Tyree officiating. Interment will follow in Philadelphia Methodist Church Cemetery.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Bohannon, Kevin Sirmons, Brice Bohannon, Bryan Whitley, Jacob Duckett, and Ashley Tyree.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Barnes and Jimmy Boatright.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
